Life.Church

Core web experience architecture for one of America’s largest churches.

Challenge

Life.Church had a large content library, maintained by teams with their own priorities and terminology. Visitors had to find their way through a structure that reflected the organisation behind it. The ministry needed a full website redesign and rebuild, including a new content hierarchy and an experience suited to mobile devices. We needed to organise the site around the congregation’s questions while working within the ministry’s stakeholder and integration requirements.

Solution

Call it “Kids and Youth”

We started with the questions people brought to the website. Those questions became the basis for navigation, bringing material from different ministry teams together where visitors would expect to find it. That also meant changing internal names. “NextGen” became “Kids and Youth.” People could find the right section without learning the organisation’s vocabulary first.

Let people get to the content

We designed the pages around what people had come to read or watch, with layouts for desktop and mobile. The content library gained a consistent presentation, so visitors could spend their attention on the material itself.

“The smartest I’ve ever worked with. If you need someone who truly thinks through problems and helps websites grow, look no further.”

Prepare pages before people arrive

We custom-built the website to generate pages in advance, reducing the work needed to serve each visit. Publishing was tied to version control so the development team could trace changes and manage deployment. Pages were ready to serve when visitors arrived, and the developers had a record of what had changed.
