One Project

From an emerging mission to a public platform, supporting One Project from the beginning.

Challenge

In 2019, One Project was taking shape around Justin Rosenstein and Jonah Sachs. Its emerging mission concerned how communities shape and manage shared resources.

Before it could have a website, the team needed to decide how to introduce that mission: who it was for, what people needed to understand first, and how they could be invited to take part. The brief covered the story, design, and build, with a launch to work towards.

Solution

Work through the idea with Jonah

We used StrategyComics to explore the audience and story with Jonah Sachs. Visual thinking helped us examine how the ideas related to one another and choose a sequence for introducing them. By the time we started planning pages, we knew which ideas needed to come first.

Give each page a purpose

We translated the narrative into a detailed plan for website sections, copy, and visuals. The plan turned broad discussions about the mission into decisions the production team could act on. We then designed and developed the site with Justin, Jonah, and the wider team, working through revisions and launch requirements.

Bring the launch together

Copy, imagery, publishing access, domains, and integrations all had to be ready for deployment. We worked directly with the team to bring the site live in September 2020. After launch, we continued supporting content, team information, publishing, and changing website requirements.

Results

A public home in September 2020

The collaboration moved from the early narrative work in 2019 to a live website the following September. One Project had a place to introduce its mission, with the copy, visuals, design, and development required to launch it.

A page plan to guide production

The page plan linked the workshop’s narrative decisions to specific copy and visuals. Justin, Jonah, and the production team could work through revisions against that plan as the launch took shape.

Support continuing into 2026

The relationship continued through website improvements, content changes, and planning for later iterations. Our contribution has been design and development support as the organisation’s public story and practical needs have changed.
